One trait I’m sure Keegan inherited from me is an aversion to be questioned. Although I dislike it, I remain polite to the questioner until I can stealthily depart the situation.
Yesterday when a 4 year old at my work was questioning Keegan, he said to her “You’re annoying me” and walked away.
One day while we were out on foot running errands, we came across a rather outgoing detail cop. As we were crossing the street through the construction, the police officer told us “Have a nice day! Jesus loves you!”
Keegan shouted back: “Nobody knows if that’s true!”
This is as close as Keegan likes to get to Santa.
Last year on Christmas while we were visiting family at my Aunt’s house, Keegan was having a chat with my Cousin. She was standing up across from him while he was sitting on the floor next to my Uncle who was in a recliner.
She asked Keegan “Do you know who that man is right there?”
“No.”
“That’s my Daddy”
Keegan looked up at him then back to her and said “He’s kind of lazy.”

Yesterday Keegan came to visit me at work. One of the little 3 year olds started following him around the classroom. Keegan shouts “Oh my god, he’s stalking me!”
My husband used to always tell me that Keegan was a fan of infomercials. I thought that was pretty funny/cute however I didn’t realize the depth of Keegan’s fascination with them until one day when he accompanied me to work. I teach preschool and during rest time while we were laying low Keegan started playing with my hair.
“Momma, you should get the InStyler.”
“What is that?”
“It makes your hair flat.”
“I already have a flat iron, Keegan.”
“Yeah but those other ones break and damage your hair”

A few years ago Keegan went to Disney with his dad and grandmother. While on the plane, his dad asked Keegan to send a special message to mommy.
Keegan has always been partial to pumpkin pie but I don’t bake so he hasn’t been exposed to too many “from scratch” recipes. Last year on Thanksgiving my sister did bake a pumpkin pie from scratch unbeknownst to Keegan. After having a bite of his pie and noticing a flavor difference, he asked my sister where she had bought it.
My sister answered “I baked it at home, I made it with love.”
Keegan responded “I don’t think I like love” and handed her back the plate.
Keegan is always super agreeable, especially so on school picture day.
